The story of Beast Tamer follows Rein, a beast tamer who is expelled from the hero's party for being perceived as weak. He subsequently forms a contract with Kanade, a girl from the powerful cat tribe, which unlocks new abilities and allows him to become much stronger. The narrative explores themes of redemption, found family, and the acquisition of power through bonds with others, centering on an ostracized protagonist who proves his worth after leaving his original party. This premise places Beast Tamer within popular contemporary Japanese fantasy genres, including the "expelled from the hero's party" narrative framework. Suzu Miyama is recognized as the authorial voice behind this successful multimedia franchise, which has expanded from its origins as a web novel to encompass light novel, manga, and anime adaptations, demonstrating the creator's significance in the modern Japanese publishing and animation industry.
