Kazutomo Ichitomo
Description
Kazutomo Ichitomo is a Japanese manga artist and writer known for creating the original manga Handyman Saitou in Another World, which was adapted into an anime television series that aired from January to March 2023. He was born in Gifu Prefecture, Japan. Ichitomo made his professional debut in 1996 with a one-shot story published in a horror manga special issue. Early in his career, he also created adult works under different pseudonyms as a means of supporting himself.
Over the years, Ichitomo has worked across multiple genres and publications. He is credited as the writer for the manga Versus Earth, which was illustrated by Yoshihiko Watanabe and published from 2012 to 2017. When that series concluded, Ichitomo both wrote and illustrated its sequel, Warhammer, which he self-published online.
Since 2018, Ichitomo has focused on creating web manga. He initially published Shed that Skin, Ryugasaki-san! as a webcomic in November 2018 before it was acquired for serialization by Overlap on its Comic Gardo website in February 2019. That same year, he began serializing Handyman Saitou in Another World on Kadokawa Shoten's ComicWalker website in October 2018. Both series are written and illustrated by Ichitomo. The latter received an anime adaptation produced by studio C2C, further establishing his work in the isekai comedy genre. His storytelling often incorporates absurdist humor, subversions of fantasy tropes, and a focus on unconventional protagonists. Ichitomo remains active as a web manga creator and continues to publish his work across various online platforms. He is married to a fellow manga artist.
