Miru Hitotsuyanagi is a Japanese voice actress and actress born on July 16, 1952, in Wakayama Prefecture, Japan. She is a graduate of the Department of Literature at Tamagawa University and began her career after joining the Theatre Company Subaru in 1979.

Her voice acting career encompasses a wide range of roles in anime, video games, and dubbed versions of foreign films. In anime, she is known for providing the voice of Tomoko Suzuki, the mother of Sonoko Suzuki, in the long-running series Detective Conan, a role she has played since the series began in 1996 and reprised for the 2016 special Detective Conan: Episode One - The Great Detective Turned Small and the 2021 film Detective Conan: The Scarlet Bullet. Other notable anime roles include the vice principal in Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken! (2020), Kasugano in Ray (2006), Teresa in Master Keaton (1998), and Kashiko Kato in the 1987 anime TO-Y. She also voiced the character Tomoe in Lupin the Third Part 6 in 2021.

Beyond anime, Hitotsuyanagi has an extensive portfolio in voice-over work for foreign films and television series. Her Japanese language dubbing credits are numerous and varied. She voiced Juno Skinner in the film True Lies, a role she performed for a Japanese television broadcast. She also provided the Japanese voice for Amelia Bones in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and has dubbed performances for actresses such as Meryl Streep in several films, including The Devil Wears Prada (as Miranda Priestly), Doubt, and Julie & Julia. Her other dubbing credits include roles in the television series Anne with an E (as Marilla Cuthbert) and films like The Sting and Field of Dreams.

In addition to her voice work, Hitotsuyanagi has also appeared as an on-screen actress in numerous Japanese television dramas, with roles in series such as Emergency Interrogation Room, Aishiteiru to Itte Kure, and the long-running drama Hana no Ran.
