Masanori Machida is a Japanese actor and voice actor born on January 7, 1955, in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. He began his entertainment career as a child actor in the 1960s, appearing in numerous films for major Japanese studios. After a brief hiatus during his teenage years to focus on sports, he returned to acting and has since built a decades-long career spanning live-action television, film, stage, and voice acting. He is affiliated with talent agencies including Production Baobab and the Takara Project. His birth name is Tsuyoshi Machida.

As a voice actor, Machida has taken on a wide variety of roles in anime, foreign film dubs, and video games, beginning to focus more on voice work in the 2000s. Among his notable anime roles are the villain Daigan in the 2018 series Hugtto! Precure. Daigan is a boastful and arrogant member of the villainous organization Criasu Corporation who eventually undergoes a change of heart and allies with the protagonists. He also voiced the character Master Shimo in the 2013 anime Baku Tech! Bakugan Gachi, a sequel series to Baku Tech! Bakugan. Master Shimo is the sensei and mentor at the Bakugan Dojo for the main characters.

His extensive anime credits also include roles in long-running and popular franchises. He has appeared in multiple installments of the Detective Conan anime, playing characters such as a passerby, Nakazane Showa, and Takenori Takemasa. He has also had roles in Crayon Shin-chan and One Piece. Further anime credits include characters in Silver Spoon, Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet, Maoyu, Chōsoku Henkei Gyrozetter, and an episode of HappinessCharge Precure!. In addition to anime, his voice work extends to video games, with credits including Medal of Honor and Dragon Quest X.

Machida has been recognized for his skill in vocal performance and narration. In 2019, he received the Judge's Special Award at the 11th Aozora Bunko Reading Contest, and in 2020, he won the Gold Prize at the 12th Aozora Bunko Reading Contest. He also hosts his own weekly radio program, Masanori Machida's Story Room, which began airing in 2018.
