His unique stage name was reportedly chosen from about 200 options after using online fortune-telling to find a name associated with good luck. He is a graduate of Nihon University's College of Economics.

Yoshida's career began in entertainment during his university years, where he was a member of the rakugo club and formed a comedy duo. In 2002, he became a member of the comedy trio Flamingo. While comedy is a significant part of his background, he has built an extensive career as a character actor in numerous television dramas, with credits in popular series such as Unnatural, MIU404, Rich Man, Poor Woman, and many others.
