Pilar Uribe

Description
Pilar Uribe is a Colombian-American actress and voice actor known for her work in television, film, and animation. Born in New York City on May 30, 1970, to Colombian parents, she grew up bilingual and developed an early interest in performing. She studied drama at Sweet Briar College in Virginia and the Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York before beginning her career on stage and screen in the United States.

In the early 1990s, Uribe moved to Colombia, where she gained widespread recognition as a television actress. She became a familiar face through roles in telenovelas such as Eternamente Manuela and Guajira. Her most notable role from this period is María Beatriz Valencia in the internationally successful series Yo soy Betty, la fea, the original Colombian telenovela on which the American hit Ugly Betty was based. After nearly a decade of working in Colombian television and film, she returned to the United States, settling first in Miami.

Her transition into voice acting began in Miami, where she started dubbing Spanish-language content into English. This work reconnected her with her passion for performance and led to a full-time career in voiceover. She later moved to Los Angeles, working extensively in bilingual voiceover for commercials, promos, narration, and animation.

In the realm of anime and animated series, Uribe has contributed her voice to several English-language productions. She provided the voice for Akiko Nanbara in the initial English dub of the Netflix original anime series A.I.C.O. -Incarnation-, produced by Iyuno Media Group. Her other anime credits include roles in Make My Day as Cathy Beck, Mecha-Ude, and Shironeko Project: Zero Chronicle. Beyond anime, her voice acting work spans various genres. She voiced characters in the animated series Legend Quest as Medusa and Atchoo! as Miss Teach. She has also lent her voice to video games, such as CookieRun Kingdom, where she played Golden Cheese Cookie, and to animated films, including the English version of the Mexican film Ana and Bruno and the feature Puss in Boots: The Last Wish.
