Kimeru is a Japanese singer, stage actor, and voice actor who began his entertainment career in the music industry before expanding into acting and voice work. He was born on June 17, 1980, in Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan. Prior to his debut, he worked as a postal worker. His stage name is derived from the Japanese word for "decide". He originally performed under the name Kimeru before changing the stylization of his name to all capital letters, KIMERU, in 2017.

Kimeru's career began in music. He made his debut as a singer on December 5, 2001, with the release of his first single, You got game? This song was notably used as the first ending theme for the popular television anime adaptation of The Prince of Tennis. This initial success led to a sustained music career, during which he released numerous singles and albums. Several of his subsequent songs were also featured as theme music for anime and television programs, including OVERLAP for Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters, go forward and calling for Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS, and STYLE for the anime MUSASHI -GUN道-.

Alongside his music, Kimeru built a parallel career as a stage actor. He made his acting debut in 2003 by taking on the role of Shusuke Fuji in the first stage production of the Musical The Prince of Tennis, a role he would reprise in subsequent performances. During this run, he also temporarily stepped in to play the lead role of Ryoma Echizen for a series of performances after the original actor was injured. He has continued to appear in various musicals and stage plays throughout his career.

Kimeru transitioned into voice acting in 2016. His debut role was as Kiji Mitsuba, the flamboyant chief guard of Building 3 in the television anime Nanbaka. At the time of his casting, he commented that he was very nervous to be trying voice acting for the first time, but expressed his happiness to be involved in the production. This role also connected him with several co-stars, such as Airu Shiozaki and Keito Okuyama, who were also part of the Nanbaka cast. Following his voice acting debut, he participated in character songs for the series, performing tracks like Nanbaka Datsugoku Riron♪! alongside his fellow cast members.

His work in Nanbaka remains his most prominent voice acting credit to date. In the years following his debut, he continued to take on roles in other media, such as lending his voice to the character Anton Seifried in the 2019 game Precatous no Tenbin. He has also participated in朗读剧 (reading dramas), including a 2020 production titled Shogun Apareedo!. Kimeru has continued to balance his voice acting with his music and stage career, and he is also a qualified psychological counselor.
