Chika Kimura is a Japanese manga artist and illustrator, born on May 12, 1964, in the Adachi ward of Tokyo, Japan. She made her professional debut as a manga creator in 1987 with a work titled "Kotatsumuri Densetsu". Her blood type is B.

Kimura is best known as the illustrator for the manga series Azuki-chan. While she provided the artwork for the series, the story was written by Yasushi Akimoto. The manga was serialized in the monthly shoujo magazine Nakayoshi, published by Kodansha. The exact start date of the serialization is cited variably as 1992, 1993, or 1994, and it concluded in 1997. The series was compiled into five tankobon volumes.

Azuki-chan follows the daily life and romantic interests of a young elementary school girl named Azusa Noyama, who is nicknamed Azuki-chan. The story focuses on her relationship with a new classmate, Yunosuke Ogasawara, and navigates the typical experiences of friendship, school, and first love from a shoujo perspective.

The popularity of the manga led to a significant anime adaptation. The Azuki-chan anime television series was produced by the renowned studio Madhouse and broadcast on the Japanese public network NHK. The series was directed by Masayuki Kojima and aired from April 4, 1995, to March 17, 1998, totaling 117 episodes. An anime film was also released on December 23, 1995. In addition to her work on Azuki-chan, Kimura is credited for original illustrations on the 1994 anime television series Gakkou no Kowai Uwasa: Hanako-san ga Kita!!.

Through the success of Azuki-chan, Chika Kimura established herself as a notable contributor to the shoujo genre, with her artistic identity being defined by this single, highly successful series that reached a wide audience through its long-running anime adaptation.
