Julia Yermakov is a bilingual American narrator and voice actor based in Japan, with a career that spans voice work for animation, video games, narration, and theater. Born in San Francisco and raised in Tokyo from a young age, she was educated at the International School of the Sacred Heart in Tokyo, which fostered her bilingual abilities. Her career in entertainment began as an opening cast member at Tokyo Disneyland, after which she performed in various plays and musicals in the Tokyo area. She became a freelance narrator and voice actor in 1992.

Yermakov's voice work in anime includes several roles in the film Air Bound, where she provided voices for multiple characters in the international version, including Shioji, Child Mouse 1, Dancer 1, and a Waitress. She also voiced the character Samhen's Mother in the original net animation Fastening Days. Her work extends to anime films, with a role as Eleanor in.hack//The Movie.

Beyond anime, Yermakov has an extensive portfolio in video game voice acting. Her notable roles include Anna in Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean, Jody Crawford in Metal Wolf Chaos, Jody Summer in F-Zero GX, and Yoshie Aoi in Shenmue. She also provided character voices for Poinie's Poin and served as the system voice in BlazBlue: ChronoPhantasma.

A significant portion of Yermakov's career is dedicated to narration and voice work for educational materials and corporate media. Her voice can be heard in numerous English language educational programs and materials, such as NHK's television and radio programs like Eigo de Asobo, Radio Eikaiwa, and Jissen Business Eikaiwa, as well as materials for ECC Jr., AEON, and the Speed Learning series. She has also narrated documentaries, corporate videos for organizations like JETRO, and in-house announcements for companies including Mitsui & Co. and Panasonic.

In addition to her voice work, Yermakov is active in theater. Since 2003, she has been a member of the Japanese theater group CALL, where she takes on multiple roles including writing, directing, designing props, and acting. She wrote the play Three Lucky Charms, an original adaptation of a Japanese folktale that the group performed during their United States debut in Boston in 2018. Her stage acting credits also include roles in various productions such as Cinderella's Real MAGIC and Lazy Jack.
