Victor Luperdi
Description
Victor Luperdi Sotomayor is a Peruvian voice actor, producer, and director known for his work in Latin American Spanish dubbing. Based in Lima, he is the co-founder and CEO of Torre A Doblaje, a studio and school that has been a significant force in the development of the dubbing industry in Peru. His career in voice work began in childhood, as he performed commercial voice-overs from the age of seven and was part of the children's cast for the television program of Yola Polastri. He later studied communications with a focus on audiovisual media, working in advertising before channeling his experience in acting and voice into professional dubbing.
Luperdi's professional dubbing career began to take shape in 2015 when an Argentine distributor noticed demo reels uploaded by his collective, Torre A, leading to opportunities to dub full-length films. Since then, his voice work has been featured in productions for major platforms such as Netflix, HBO Max, Hulu, and Funimation. His role as the voice of Bubu in the 2018 animated film La gran aventura de Gamba, known in English as Air Bound, is a notable credit in his filmography. In the realm of anime, he is recognized for his work on the popular series My Hero Academia, providing the voices for characters such as Untenmaru Kurumada, Juzo Honenuki, and Koku Hanabata.
Beyond these roles, Luperdi's extensive filmography encompasses a wide variety of genres and formats. He has lent his voice to live-action films, including the role of a young Pelé in Pelé, el nacimiento de una leyenda, and to numerous other movies, series from countries like Russia and Turkey, and animated shows such as Superbuns and Rat-Ataque. His work also extends to video games and documentaries, including projects for the WWE.
Luperdi has pursued continuous training to refine his craft, studying under prominent figures in Latin American dubbing, including Mexican voice actors Alfonso Obregón, Arturo Mercado Jr., and Marina Huerta, as well as professionals from Argentina, Colombia, and Venezuela. His contributions to the field have been recognized with a nomination for the Lavat Awards in 2020 in the category of "revelation voice actor". He has also represented Peru at international industry events, such as the Jornadas Argentinas de Doblaje and the Festival Iberoamericano de la Voz Viva Voz, where he conducted a workshop. Through his leadership at Torre A, which functions as both a production studio and a training ground for new talent, Luperdi plays a central role in fostering the growth of the dubbing profession in his home country.
