She studied acting in both New York and Philadelphia and has also performed in Off-Off Broadway plays, films, and provided voices for audiobooks and video games.

Her filmography includes a wide range of voice roles from this era. Among her notable credits are the specific characters mentioned: she voiced Kagairi Sonoba in the original video animation Assemble Insert; Komaki Asagiri in both the Genshiken series and its spin-off Kujibiki Unbalance; Tequila in Knights of Ramune; and Kumi in Sins of the Sisters. However, she is perhaps best known for her multiple roles in the Revolutionary Girl Utena franchise, where she voiced the characters Juri Arisugawa, Keiko Sonoda, and a Shadow Girl. Her other extensive voice work includes parts in Boogiepop Phantom, Ayane's High Kick, Jewel BEM Hunter Lime, The Slayers Next, and The World of Narue.

Bonhomme frequently collaborated with a core group of English voice actors who worked in the New York anime dubbing industry at the time. Her recurring collaborators included Rachael Lillis, Crispin Freeman, Lisa Ortiz, Jessica Calvello, and Ed Paul, among others. Her career is marked by her contribution to many of the anime titles that were localized for the North American market during the growth of home video in the 1990s. In addition to her anime work, she provided the voice of the Shadowy Woman in the Nicktoons series Speed Racer: The Next Generation.
