Keone Young is an American actor with a career spanning over five decades, who has become a prolific and respected voice artist in animation, including a significant body of work in anime and anime-influenced series. Originally from Honolulu, Hawaii, he began his on-screen acting career in 1969. A pivotal influence on his development as a performer was his intensive study under the tutelage of the acclaimed actor Mako Iwamatsu.

Young's voice acting career is extensive, with hundreds of credits across numerous animated series and films. He is known for a wide range of roles in Western animation that draw on anime aesthetics and storytelling, such as the Firebending master Jeong Jeong in the series Avatar: The Last Airbender, Grandpa in American Dragon: Jake Long, Mr. Sanban in Codename: Kids Next Door, Kaz in Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi, and Commander Jun Sato in Star Wars Rebels. His work also extends into the DC Animated Universe with roles in series like Teen Titans, Batman Beyond, and Young Justice.

In addition to television, Young has been active in the voice work for anime films and original net animations, particularly for projects released on streaming platforms. He voiced Lord Qin in the 2004 animated film Mulan II. More recently, he played Dr. Onda in the 2024 Netflix film Ultraman: Rising and took on the role of Teichii in the 2022 animated feature Inu-oh. He also provided additional voices for the 2023 Studio Ghibli film The Boy and the Heron and the Disney animated feature Wish.

Young's credits also encompass a number of prominent recent anime series. In the English dub of the Netflix series Record of Ragnarok, he voices the legendary swordsman Kojiro Sasaki. He played Tsunetomo Yamamoto in the 2021 series Godzilla Singular Point. For the Star Wars: Visions anthology, he lent his voice to the character Kamahachi in the short Akakiri. He also portrayed Tsukuyomi in the English dub of the 2021 Netflix film Bright: Samurai Soul.

Beyond his on-screen and voice work, Young has a long history with the East West Players, an Asian American theatre company in Los Angeles, where he has both performed and served as a producer. His career reflects a longstanding commitment to his craft and a significant presence in the world of animated voice acting.
