Franky Rampen
Description
Franky Rampen is a Dutch voice actor, singer, and audio engineer known for work in the Dutch dubbing of animated films and series. He is also a co-founder of Voiceconsult, an initiative focused on education and increasing diversity within the Dutch dubbing industry. In addition to his voice work, Rampen is a trained audio engineer and singer, skills he brings to his performances.
One of his most high-profile roles is providing the Dutch voice of Félix in the Disney animated film Encanto, a performance that also featured him singing in the Dutch version of the popular song We Don't Talk About Bruno. He also voiced the character Tiple Maestro in the same film. His career includes an active participation in the voice acting community, such as appearing in the Meet the Voices theater show in Amsterdam, which celebrates the performers behind animated characters.
Beyond his performance work, Rampen has a significant role behind the scenes. Alongside fellow voice talent Anneke Beukman, he co-founded Voiceconsult in the Netherlands to address a lack of diversity in the local dubbing industry. The initiative was created to find and train new talent through workshops, with the goal of ensuring that the voices and accents in Dutch-language dubs more accurately reflect the diverse cultures portrayed in international films. This work has included organizing specific workshops for Black, Asian, and Latin voice talent.
