Motoichi Adachi, born on August 23, 1965, in Gunma Prefecture, is a Japanese creative professional whose career spans both the television and anime industries. A graduate of Waseda University, he initially established himself as a prominent broadcast writer and television producer.

Adachi is widely recognized for his foundational role in several anime projects. He is credited as the original creator of the anime series Sockie's Frontier Quest, a comedy series that aired in 2011. Beyond creating original concepts, he has been involved in the development and production of various other anime titles. He developed the anime adaptation of Nukko., a character-based series of shorts that began airing in April 2012. His work as a screenplay writer includes the Litchi DE Hikari Club television anime, a series of comedy shorts based on Usamaru Furuya's manga, which premiered in October 2012. Other credits include serving as the series project for Ganbare! Oden-kun and as a scriptwriter for series such as Neko no Dayan and Chobitto Zukan.

His professional identity is rooted in his extensive background in television production prior to his work in anime. He was a member of the writing and production staff for numerous popular Japanese variety programs, including titles such as SMAPxSMAP. His work in this field earned him a reputation for high ratings, with his programming at one point achieving a total weekly viewership of over two hundred percent, leading to the nickname the two hundred percent man. His contributions to broadcasting have been recognized with several awards, including the Galaxy Award Grand Prize and an International Emmy Award.
