Shin Shinmoto

Description
Shin Shinmoto is a Japanese manga artist and original creator, known for the manga series Super Seisyun Brothers, which was later adapted into an anime television series. Shinmoto’s career as a creator is primarily defined by this work, which serves as the central piece of their professional portfolio.

Super Seisyun Brothers, also known as SSB: Super Seishun Brothers, is a slice of life comedy manga that Shinmoto wrote and illustrated. The series began serialization in G-Mode’s web comic magazine Comic Polaris in November 2012 and concluded in October 2018, with its chapters collected into eleven tankobon volumes. The story follows the daily lives of two pairs of siblings: the Shinmoto siblings, consisting of college student Chiko and high schooler Chika, and the Saitō siblings, consisting of Mako and her younger brother Mao. The series was published under the shōjo demographic, targeting a young female audience.

The success of the manga led to an anime adaptation produced by the studio AIC PLUS+. The anime, a television series consisting of fourteen short episodes, aired on TV Tokyo and other networks from September to December 2013. Shinmoto is credited as the original creator of the series, with the anime adaptation being produced by a separate creative team.

In addition to the main series, Shinmoto launched a spin-off titled Super Seisyun Brothers PLUS in April 2017, which later continued under the name Suki desu, Tonari no Onii-chan. This spin-off shifted the focus from twin sisters and their younger brothers to a story involving older brothers and younger sisters.

Beyond Super Seisyun Brothers, Shinmoto has been credited with other manga works, including a series titled Access in 2011 and Kimi to Itadakimasu in 2009, where they were responsible for both the story and art. Shinmoto also contributed as an artist for the anthology Touken Ranbu -ONLINE- Anthology ~Honjin~ in 2018. A 2020 article noted that Shinmoto operates a YouTube channel under the name SS manga diary, where they share drawing tutorials and footage of their creative process.
