Ai Takabe

Description
The profile for Ai Takabe refers to the Japanese actress, model, and voice actor Takabe Ai. Born on August 16, 1988, in Tokyo, she began her entertainment career after winning a prize in the 10th All Japan National Beauty Contest in 2004 and subsequently joined the idol group美少女クラブ31 (Miss Beautiful Club 31). She was affiliated with the talent agency Oscar Promotion.

Her career initially focused on acting, with her television debut in the 2006 drama 真爱. In 2009, she expanded into voice acting, making her debut as the protagonist Fumi Manjoume in the television anime adaptation of Sweet Blue Flowers (Aoi Hana). This marked the beginning of her brief but notable period as a voice actor.

Following her debut, Takabe secured several supporting roles in anime productions. In 2011, she voiced a character named Maiko in the series Wandering Son (Hourou Musuko) and an unnamed SP in Sacred Seven. Her most prominent and final major anime role came in 2012 when she was cast as the cheerful assassin Agiri Goshiki in the comedy series Kill Me Baby. She also reprised this role for an original video animation (OAD) released with a manga volume in 2013.

Takabe's career was cut short in October 2015 when she was arrested for illegal possession of cocaine. Her talent agency promptly terminated her contract. As a direct result of the incident, her voice roles were affected; for instance, her character Agiri Goshiki was later recast to Minami Shinoda for a 2018 game appearance. Streaming services in Japan temporarily removed some of the anime she had appeared in. Following her release and a subsequent non-prosecution disposition in 2016, she retired from the entertainment industry. In 2017, she married a lawyer and has not returned to public life.
