Kozue Takeuchi
Description
Kozue Takeuchi is a Japanese manga artist born on November 19, 1978, in Uwajima, Ehime Prefecture, Japan. She made her professional debut in 2002 with the one-shot story Seishun Urara, which was published in the August issue of the magazine Ribon Original. Since her debut, she has primarily worked with the publisher Shueisha, creating manga for its shōjo manga magazine Ribon and its related publications. Her most notable and long-running work is the series Chocotan!, which she wrote and illustrated. The manga was serialized in Ribon magazine from October 3, 2011, to September 1, 2017. The chapters were collected into thirteen tankōbon volumes, released by Shueisha between April 13, 2012, and March 23, 2018. The story centers on a talking miniature dachshund puppy named Chocotan and her owner, a young girl named Nao, as they navigate friendship and romance. In 2013, Chocotan! was adapted into a ten-minute anime special. The special was produced by the animation studio J.C.Staff and shown at the Ribon Festa event on March 17, 2013. Voice actors for the special included Rie Kugimiya as the voice of Chocotan and Ayane Sakura as the voice of Nao Hatori. Beyond Chocotan!, publicly available records of her other works are limited, with her professional profile being defined largely by this single long-running series. Her body of work places her within the broader context of creators for Ribon, a magazine known for targeting a young female audience with romance and comedy stories.
