Chika Arakawa

Description
Chika Arakawa is a Japanese actress, voice actress, and former idol, born on July 29, 1999, in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. She began her entertainment career at a very young age, debuting in a musical at the age of four in 2003. Her early work was primarily as a child actress in television dramas and films, with a notable role in the 2011 NHK morning drama Ohisama. That same year, at just 12 years old, she won the Best Actress award at the Comedy Cluj International Film Festival in Romania for her performance in the film Yakuza Girl.

Arakawa's entry into voice acting began in 2012 with a role in the acclaimed animated film Wolf Children. Her first major role in a television anime series came in 2013 when she was cast as Kirara Bernstein in the series GJ Club. She would reprise this role for the GJ Club Special in 2014. Her voice acting work to date is closely associated with these projects, and her collaborations with the regular cast of GJ Club, including voice actors such as Suzuko Mimori, Hiro Shimono, Maaya Uchida, and Yume Miyamoto, represent a notable instance of recurring professional relationships in her voice acting career.

Beyond her voice acting roles, Arakawa's career is multifaceted. She was a member of the idol group Otome Shinto from 2012 to 2014, and the group's debut single was the opening theme song for GJ Club. Her work as an actress in live-action film and television has continued throughout her career. A significant achievement in her later career is her graduation from the Film Department, Directing Course at Nihon University College of Art in 2022, after which she began directing her own short films and music videos.
