Mei Misono is a Japanese voice actress born on February 27 in Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan. She is affiliated with AG-promotion until becoming a freelancer on August 1, 2011. Her blood type is B.

Her journey into voice acting began unexpectedly. Not originally aspiring to be a voice actor, she was invited by a friend to observe a drama CD recording session. There, she performed a line for a background character, which sparked her interest and led her to join a study group. Her professional debut came after she successfully auditioned for an assistant role on the internet radio program Akemi to Marika no Gatchu Mirimiri Hoso Kyoku. This opportunity paved the way for her entry into the adult game industry as a voice actress. She regards senior voice actress Mahiru Kaneda, who selected her from the audition, as her mentor.

Misono is primarily known for her extensive work in adult games and animations, using Mei Misono as her primary stage name. For non-adult work, she uses different names, including Sahomi Koyama and Chihiro Umehara. Her career is marked by high productivity and recognition within the industry. In June 2023, Misono expanded her activities by debuting as a VTuber, creating her own channel and avatar, which she initially based on her cat.
