Yuka Hirata is a Japanese actress, voice actress, tarento, and former gravure idol born on September 15, 1983, in Hokkaido, Japan. She began her entertainment career in 1998 and is affiliated with the talent agency Across Entertainment. Standing 158 cm tall, Hirata has built a diverse career spanning live-action television, film, voice acting for anime, and radio presenting.
Hirata is perhaps best known for her live-action role as the antagonist Mere in the 2007 Super Sentai series Juken Sentai Gekiranger, a performance she later reprised in several crossover films. This tokusatsu work remains one of her most prominent on-screen appearances. Her other live-action credits include roles in Kamen Rider W and Unofficial Sentai Akibaranger. In 2010, she appeared in the live-action film Wonderful World, which was directed by voice actor Daisuke Namikawa and featured a cast of prominent voice acting colleagues.
In the realm of voice acting, Hirata has taken on a variety of roles in anime television series and specials. In 2009, she voiced the heroine Yuria in Ring of Gundam, a special short film created to commemorate the Gundam franchise's 30th anniversary. That same year, she began voicing Risa Shido in the long-running baseball anime Cross Game and Kumi Mashiba in Hajime no Ippo: New Challenger. In 2011, she voiced the character Masamune Date in the anime series Battle Girls: Time Paradox (Sengoku Otome: Momoiro Paradox), a role that connected her back to her Super Sentai fanbase. Her other anime voice work includes Ruo Minai in Shikabane Hime: Aka, Melissa Claire in Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V, and Operator A in FLCL: Shoegaze. She also provided the voice for Makiko Terakado in the 2013 original video animation (OVA) Nozoki Ana.
