Tamaki Matsumoto is a Japanese former actress and voice actress known for her work as a child performer in the late 2000s. She was born on February 7, 1999, in Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan. Her career in entertainment began in August 2001 when she entered the Theater Academy. She made her professional debut in October 2002 with a stage performance.
Matsumoto first gained attention in 2007 through regular appearances in the television drama My Fairboy and the popular tokusatsu series Kamen Rider Den-O, where she played the role of Kohana. During this period, she was active as both a live-action actress and a voice actress in anime and dubbed films. Her voice acting credits from this era include the role of the young Empress (天子) in the anime series Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 and the voice of a young Cosette in the world masterpiece theater anime Les Misérables: Shōjo Cosette.
In anime film, Matsumoto voiced several notable roles. She played Mitsuko Aoki in the 2009 film Mai Mai Miracle and provided the voice of Cotton in the 2009 fantasy film Oblivion Island: Haruka and the Magic Mirror. The following year, in 2010, she voiced the character Noriko Nishimura in the animated film Welcome to THE SPACE SHOW. Her work also extended to dubbing foreign films; she provided the Japanese voice for the young Ellie in the Disney/Pixar film Up.
In addition to acting, Matsumoto also worked as a singer. In June 2010, she released the single Kuttsuke Hattsuke Wonderland, which was used as the seventeenth ending theme song for the anime series Keroro Gunso.
In 2010, Matsumoto transferred from the Theater Academy's Cosmos Theater Company to the affiliated production company AT Production. However, at the end of 2010, she decided to pause her entertainment activities to focus on her studies. She officially retired from the entertainment industry in April 2011 to dedicate more time to her academic life, specifically to prepare for her secondary school entrance examination. Later, in April 2017, she enrolled at Meiji Gakuin University in the Faculty of International Studies.
