Takaaki Seki was a Japanese actor and voice actor, born on November 5, 1969, in Osaka Prefecture. He began his career in entertainment in 1995 after training at the Bungakuza Acting Research Institute and the En Theater Institute, becoming a full member of the theatrical company Engeki Shudan En in 1997. He was active across stage, television, film, and voice acting until his death on April 15, 2024, from esophageal cancer at the age of 54.
In anime, Seki was known for his baritone voice, which brought gravitas to a range of characters. He voiced the role of Boss in the 2009 film Mai Mai Miracle. He also portrayed Shutaro Kiba in the supernatural mystery series Mōryō no Hako and took on the role of Michimune in the film Naze Ikiru: Rennyo Shōnin to Yoshizaki Enjō. His other notable anime roles include Zhang Fei in Sōten Kōro, Onizuka in Gallery Fake, and Mattis in Ronja the Robber's Daughter.
