Kumiko Mori is a Japanese voice actress, television personality, and singer. She was born on July 22, 1959, in Miyagi Prefecture, Japan. Beyond her work in anime, Mori has established a diverse career in entertainment that includes live-action acting, stand-up comedy, and opera singing. Her international background includes time spent living in both the United States and Italy, where she studied to become a mezzo-soprano opera singer.
Mori is widely recognized for her voice role as the mother, Rieko Kamohara, in the long-running anime television series Mainichi Kaasan, known in English as Kaasan: Mom's Life. The series, a slice-of-life comedy based on a manga by Rieko Saibara, aired from 2009 to 2012, and Mori provided the voice for the titular character throughout its 142-episode run. She also performed the opening theme song for the series, titled Mainichi Kaa-san.
