Kumiko Mori is a Japanese voice actress, television personality, and singer. She was born on July 22, 1959, in Miyagi Prefecture, Japan. Beyond her work in anime, Mori has established a diverse career in entertainment that includes live-action acting, stand-up comedy, and opera singing. Her international background includes time spent living in both the United States and Italy, where she studied to become a mezzo-soprano opera singer.

Mori is widely recognized for her voice role as the mother, Rieko Kamohara, in the long-running anime television series Mainichi Kaasan, known in English as Kaasan: Mom's Life. The series, a slice-of-life comedy based on a manga by Rieko Saibara, aired from 2009 to 2012, and Mori provided the voice for the titular character throughout its 142-episode run. She also performed the opening theme song for the series, titled Mainichi Kaa-san.

In addition to her work in television, Mori has contributed to the Pokémon franchise. She performed the Japanese ending theme for the third Pokémon film, Spell of the Unown: Entei, which was released as a single. Her other voice acting credits include a role in the series Maria Napole.

Mori's professional achievements extend significantly into theater and music. She is notably known for her stage work, having performed the role of Madame Thénardier in the Japanese production of the musical Les Misérables over two thousand times.
