Emily Bauer is an American voice actress recognized for her extensive work in anime dubbing, animation, and audiobook narration. Born on July 29, 1981, in New Jersey, she developed an early interest in performing arts, taking classes at a local school and participating in productions at the Paper Mill Playhouse. She attended Millburn High School before majoring in both Business and Theatre at New York University, from which she graduated cum laude in 2002. She is also known professionally under the names Emily Jenness and Emily Blau.
Bauer's career in voice acting spans several decades, during which she has become particularly well-known for her long-standing association with the Pokémon franchise. Beginning in 2007, she was cast in the leading role of Dawn, the female coordinator who travels with Ash through the Sinnoh region in the Pokémon: Diamond and Pearl anime series. She reprised this role for numerous subsequent projects, including the films Pokémon: The Rise of Darkrai, Pokémon: Giratina and the Sky Warrior, Pokémon: Arceus and the Jewel of Life, and Pokémon: Zoroark: Master of Illusions. Her involvement with the series extended beyond this single character; she also provided the voice for the powerful Sinnoh League Champion Cynthia, Officer Jenny, and the Team Rocket operative Matori across various seasons and specials, including Pokémon Best Wishes!, Pokémon Journeys: The Series, and Pokémon Horizons: The Series. Her filmography also includes the role of Sunflora in the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon special.
