Ayumi Furuyama is a Japanese voice actor born on May 25, 1973, in Fukuoka Prefecture. She is affiliated with the talent agency Cosmo-Space. Her interest in voice acting began during high school after she joined a drama club; she found the physical aspects of stage performance challenging and was drawn to the idea of expressing herself solely through her voice. She is a graduate of Aoni Juku, a training institution for voice actors.

Furuyama's career started in the 1990s, and her early work included minor roles in series such as Hell Teacher Nube, GeGeGe no Kitaro (Fourth Series), and Sailor Moon Sailor Stars. Until March 31, 2001, she was under contract with Aoni Production before moving to her current agency, Cosmo-Space.

One of her most recognized roles is Yamada Hiroko in the popular comedy series Haré+Guu, also known as Tropical Rainforest, a role she reprised in its OVA sequels. She also played Arigase Ryouko in Iketeru Futari and Akiho in Ultra Maniac, as well as the teacher Rie Nakasato in Aishiteruze Baby. In the short-form anime Kupu Mamegoma, she is credited with voicing the character of Mom.

Beyond television animation, Furuyama has an extensive portfolio in video games. She is known for roles such as Yukiko Sugisaki in the First Kiss Story series and Kyoko Ozaki in the Graduation III games. Other notable game credits include Fujiwara Haruka in Zettai Zetsumei Toshi 2, Savory in Bumpy Trot, and Marin in Animamundi.

Throughout her career, Furuyama has participated in numerous radio programs, drama CDs, and live events related to her projects, particularly those associated with the Graduation III and First Kiss Story franchises. She has frequently collaborated with directors and co-stars on series like Haré+Guu, working with figures such as director Masaomi Ando and fellow voice actors including Akiko Hiramatsu and Takeshi Kusao.
