Saori Kato is a Japanese voice actor affiliated with the talent agency Accent. She was born on May 5th in Nagano Prefecture. Her path to voice acting was non-traditional; during her university years, she was a member of the same children's culture研究 group as future animation director Goro Miyazaki. After graduating, she initially worked as an elementary school teacher before deciding to pursue a career in voice acting. Her training included time at the Baobabu Gakuen (now Visual Space Actor's Training School) as part of its 10th generation, and she was formerly affiliated with Tokyo Actor's Consumer's Cooperative Society and Moana Factory before joining Accent. Her voice is classified as alto.
Kato has built a career with a wide range of roles in anime, video games, and foreign language dubbing. In anime, she is known for her role as Esal, the Reverend of Teachers at Kazalm, in the 2009 series The Beast Player Erin, based on the novel by Nahoko Uehashi.
