Born on June 26, 1986, in Sugar Land, Texas, she began her acting career in local theater productions, including roles in Little Shop of Horrors and The Pirates of Penzance. Her entry into voice acting occurred when a director from ADV Films saw her perform as Janet in a stage production of The Rocky Horror Show and invited her to audition. This led to her first roles in anime dubs in 2004, starting with minor characters in the series Gantz. She briefly studied theater at the University of Houston.

Karbowski's career has been closely associated with major anime production companies, including ADV Films, Funimation (now part of Crunchyroll), and Sentai Filmworks. Her first leading role was as Fuko in the series Gilgamesh.
