Kayo Sakata is a Japanese voice actress from Osaka Prefecture, born on March 23. She is affiliated with the talent management firm Sigma Seven and has also worked under several different stage names throughout her career. She began her professional voice acting career in 2002, with an early role in the television anime series Happy Lesson.

Sakata has built a diverse portfolio of roles across animation, video games, and drama CDs. A significant and recurring part of her career has been her involvement in the Magic Girl Lyrical Nanoha franchise. She first voiced the character Mariel Atenza in Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha A's in 2005 and later provided the voice for Schach Nouera in Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS in 2007. She has continued to reprise these roles in subsequent OVAs, video games, and theatrical films, including Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha The MOVIE 2nd A's in 2012 and Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Reflection in 2017.

In 2006, Sakata took on multiple roles in the mecha anime series Strain: Strategic Armored Infantry, voicing the characters Becky and Ermengarde Johannitz. One of her most recognized leading roles came in 2010 when she was cast as Akira Amatsume in the anime series Yosuga no Sora: In Solitude Where We Are Least Alone, a role she also performed in the original video game on which the series was based. Her other notable anime credits include roles in popular series such as Haruhi in Ouran High School Host Club, a classmate in Bamboo Blade, and a continued association with the Nanoha universe with the role of Schach Nouera in Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha ViVid in 2015.

Beyond television, Sakata's body of work is extensive in other media. She has voiced characters in numerous video games, including ToHeart2, DRACU-RIOT!, and the game adaptations of Yosuga no Sora and its sequel. She has also contributed to many drama CDs and participated in radio programs related to the anime and games she has been involved with. In addition to her entertainment work, Sakata has lent her voice to educational and cultural projects, such as audio guides for museum exhibitions on dinosaurs and treasures, demonstrating the range of her vocal talents.
