Saoirse Ronan is an Irish actress who has provided voice work for a small number of animated productions, including one feature film associated with anime. She voiced the title character, Arrietty, in the United Kingdom English dub of the Studio Ghibli film The Secret World of Arrietty. This 2010 film, directed by Hiromasa Yonebayashi and written by Hayao Miyazaki and Keiko Niwa, is based on Mary Norton's novel The Borrowers. Ronan's version of the film is a distinct English-language adaptation, separate from the version produced for the United States, in which Arrietty was voiced by Bridgit Mendler.
