Oona Plany is a German voice actress and performer, born on March 30, 1984, in Bonn. Her background is rooted in the performing arts, beginning with classical ballet in her youth before expanding to jazz dance, karate, and rock 'n' roll. She pursued this interest academically, studying performing arts (Art du spectacle - cinéma) at the Université Lumière in Lyon, France, and later earning a master's degree in dance studies at the Freie Universität Berlin.

While Plany has appeared on screen in German television series such as Schloss Einstein, In aller Freundschaft, and Alarm für Cobra 11, her most extensive body of work is in voice acting. She has provided the German voice for a wide range of characters in film and television, often dubbing the performances of well-known actresses. Her notable dubbing credits include voicing Scarlett Johansson in the film Manny & Lo, Mara Wilson in Matilda, and Jena Malone in projects like Zwischen den Welten.

In the realm of anime, Plany is recognized for her portrayal of the titular character in the German dub of the Haruhi Suzumiya franchise. She voiced the energetic and reality-warping Haruhi Suzumiya in the television series The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and its subsequent film, The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya.
