Carme Calvell

Description
Carmen Calvel is a Spanish voice actress who began her career in the dubbing industry in the early 1990s. She quickly became a specialist in animation and was a mainstay in the world of anime dubbing produced in the Barcelona area for many years. Her work is characterized by a wide vocal range, allowing her to portray a diverse array of characters, with a noted proficiency for worldly female characters, energetic girls, and the "Cool Big Sis" archetype.

Her career is marked by a long-standing and frequent collaboration with fellow voice actresses Carmen Ambrós and María Rosa Guillén. The three are noted to have debuted in the business around the same time, working together on the Spanish dub of the live-action series Red Dwarf in 1989, and have since shared credits in countless anime series, often playing friends or rivals to one another.

Calvel's extensive body of work in anime dubbing includes several prominent and varied roles. She is known for voicing Motoko Kusanagi in Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Yomiko Readman in Read or Die, and Tokiko Magami in X/1999. In the anime adaptation of Berserk, her versatility is on full display as she provided the Spanish voices for multiple characters, including a young Guts, a young Griffith, Rickert, Princess Charlotte, and several episodic characters like Collette, Adonis, and Elise. Her work is not limited to anime; she has also contributed her voice to Western animated productions, such as the role of Mike Goldwing in the 2015 film Capture the Flag and Cloe in the series Sendokai Champions. Beyond animation, Calvell has also worked extensively as a narrator for audiobooks, including Spanish-language versions of works by authors like Margaret Atwood.
