Hikari Tachibana
Description
Hikari Tachibana is a Japanese voice actress born on September 18, 1973, in Osaka Prefecture. She is affiliated with the talent agency Arts Vision. Her real name is Hikari Chiba, and she previously used the stage name Hikari Kato. Tachibana's path to voice acting was encouraged by her older brother, and she is the youngest of three siblings, with two older brothers. Her training includes time at the Ōhira Toshiro Voice Actor Seminar, the Tokyo Announcement Academy, and the Japan Narration Acting Institute.
Tachibana is known for a wide range of roles, with a particularly strong presence in video games. Some of her most notable game performances include Princess Zelda and Tetra in The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, as well as Miho Shirayuki and Maho Shirayuki in Tokimeki Memorial 2. Her extensive gameography also includes roles in Grandia as Leen, Persona 2, Power Stone as Ayame, Street Fighter EX as Blair Dame, La Pucelle: Tactics as Arue, and Gunparade March as Matsuri Kato.
In anime and original video animations, Tachibana's roles include Ai Kambara in the High School Aurabuster OVA and series, and Yui Narusawa in the Dōkyūsei 2 and Dōkyūsei: Climax OVAs. She also had a minor role in two episodes of the Inuyasha anime series. Her other anime credits include appearances in DT Eiron as Edolly, and in Shadow Skill. Beyond animation, Tachibana has performed in tokusatsu productions. She played Tentorina in B-Robo Kabutack and appeared as the Jewel Thief Rouge in an episode of Mirai Sentai Timeranger.
A significant and long-running role in her career was providing the voice for the character Spoo in the popular NHK children's program Okaasan to Issho, specifically within the Gu~Choko Ran~tan segment. She took over this role in 2001 from Maria Kawamura and became the second voice actor for the character. This casting was influenced by her friendship with Kawamura, as they were both at the same agency at the time. Her personal interests include tarot card reading, cosmetics, and Indian classical dance (Kathak).
