Tomomi Nakamura
Description
Tomomi Nakamura is a manga artist known for her work as one half of the creative duo Naked Ape, alongside her collaborator Otoh Saki. The pair began creating both officially published works and dōjinshi together, with Nakamura serving as the illustrator for their projects.
Nakamura is credited as the illustrator for the manga Switch, which was written by Otoh Saki. The series was serialized in Square Enix’s Monthly GFantasy magazine from 2002 to October 2008, and its chapters were collected into thirteen tankōbon volumes. The story follows two undercover officers in a narcotics control department. Switch was later adapted into a two-episode original video animation released in 2008 and 2009, directed by Naoki Oohira at the animation studio Actas.
The Naked Ape duo is also responsible for the manga series Dolls, with Tomomi Nakamura again serving as artist. This series was published by Ichijinsha starting in 2005 and has been released in multiple languages, including French and English editions. Other manga credited to the duo include Di[e]ce, Halcyon, Kotō no Oni, and Magnolia. Their body of work has been released internationally through publishers such as Viz Media and Kazé.
