Thierry Mercier was a French voice actor born on May 1, 1961. He passed away on August 1, 2023, at the age of 62. He was known for his deep and recognizable voice, which he lent to numerous animated series and films for the French market.

Mercier's career included a wide variety of roles in anime and Western animation. He was notably the French voice of the adult Son Goku in the series Dragon Ball GT, a role that made him a part of the franchise's voice cast in France. He also voiced Krilin and Dr. Gero in the same series. Years later, he returned to the Dragon Ball universe to voice Paragus, the father of Broly, in the 2018 film Dragon Ball Super: Broly.

In addition to his work on Dragon Ball, Mercier had many other prominent voice roles. He voiced Chandler in the series The Seven Deadly Sins: Imperial Wrath of The Gods and The Seven Deadly Sins: Dragon's Judgement. He also voiced Robby Diesel in the Netflix series Super Crooks. His film work included the role of Mammouth in City Hunter: Shinjuku Private Eyes. He was also the voice of Homme Masqué in Flint: The Time Detective and Seiji "Iron" Kiba in Shootfighter Tekken.

His extensive filmography also included roles such as Machine Head in the film Redline, Alibert in the animated series Wakfu, and Rock Zilla in Moi Willy, fils de rock star. He voiced multiple characters in Digimon Fusion and was the voice of Absalom in One Piece. In addition to animation, Mercier was known as one of the regular French voices for actors Vin Diesel and Christopher Judge. He also lent his voice to video games, including the role of Dominic "Dom" Santiago in the Gears of War series and Torn in the Jak and Daxter series.
