Nakao Michiosu
Description
Nakao Michio, also credited as Nakao Michiosu, is a Japanese voice actor and narrator born on August 11, 1964, in Osaka Prefecture. He began his professional career after graduating from the Aoni Juku Tokyo School as a seventh-term student in 1987 and subsequently joining the talent management firm Aoni Production. His early work included roles in long-running television series such as Cherry Little, Soreike! Anpanman, and Dragon Ball Z in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Throughout the 1990s, he appeared in a wide range of popular anime, providing voices for characters in series like Sailor Moon, Slam Dunk, and the original 1999 run of One Piece.
In the mid-2000s, Nakao took on the role of Ura in the 2005 OVA Pale Cocoon, a science fiction work directed by Yasuhiro Yoshiura. This project marked the beginning of a recurring collaboration with director Yoshiura. Nakao was subsequently cast in other works by the director, including the 2006 short film Pale Cocoon, also known as The Pale Cocoon, and the 2008 web anime Time of Eve and its 2010 theatrical compilation film, in which he voiced the character Kosuke. Other notable roles from this period include a young Sakazuki in One Piece and a role in the 2007 series Dennō Coil.
Nakao's career also encompassed work in original video animations, video games, and drama CDs. After a long tenure with Aoni Production, he became a freelance voice actor on June 30, 2011, and later affiliated with Kakehi Production in October 2013, where he continued to focus on narration work in addition to voice acting.
