Rumi Sakakibara is a Japanese actress and voice actress born in Tokyo on March 5, 1951. She began her career in entertainment at a young age, working as a magazine model before transitioning to acting on stage and in television. Her early prominence in the 1970s came largely from live-action roles, most notably as Aki Sakata in the popular television series Return of Ultraman.

While Sakakibara is primarily known for her on-screen performances, she has contributed her voice to several animated projects. Two of her recognized voice roles are in films requested by the user. She voiced the character Anna in the 1999 animated film Marco: Haha o Tazunete Sanzenri, an adaptation of the classic story about a boy searching for his mother. Decades earlier, at the start of her career, she provided the voice for Princess Rose in the 1969 Toei Animation feature film The Wonderful World of Puss 'n Boots.

In addition to these roles, her extensive filmography includes numerous appearances in television dramas and films throughout the 1970s, 1980s, and beyond. A notable later achievement was her return to the character of Aki Sakata in the 2008 film Great Decisive Battle! The Super 8 Ultra Brothers, reprising a role she had originated nearly forty years prior.
