Midori Hagio is a Japanese actress and voice actress born on January 14, 1954, in Yahata, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. She is affiliated with the talent agency Office PSC. Hagio was raised in Niigata Prefecture and attended Niigata Prefectural Takada High School. She later studied biology at Chiba University but left the program before completing her degree.

Hagio began her career in the entertainment industry in the late 1970s. Her early work included roles in films such as the thriller The House of Hanging in 1979. For her performances, she received the Elan d‘or Award for Newcomer of the Year, an award given to promising new talents in Japanese film and theater.

Her career encompasses both live-action and voice acting roles. In animation, she is known for providing the voice of the character Yuugao in the 1987 animated film Murasaki Shikibu The Tale of Genji, an adaptation of the classic Japanese novel. Her filmography also includes a role in the 2002 science fiction film Godzilla Against MechaGodzilla, where she played Kaoru Yamada.

In addition to her film work, Hagio has had an extensive career in Japanese television drama. She has appeared in numerous series since the 1970s, with credits including the popular drama A House Divided, the long-running series 3年B班金八老師, and guest roles in shows such as 相棒 and 法醫女神探. Her television work has continued into the 2020s, with appearances in series like 小靜和爸爸 and 獨活女子的守則4.
