Sally
Description
Sally is an American voice actress and singer based in Tokyo, Japan. Born in Los Angeles, California, on April 26, 2000, she is bilingual in English and Japanese and also speaks conversational Spanish. She moved to Japan to pursue a career in voice acting, inspired by the anime "Gintama" and the voice actor Tomokazu Sugita.
In 2016, Sally was selected from over 10,000 applicants to join the digital voice-acting idol group 22/7, produced by Yasushi Akimoto and Aniplex. As a core member of the group, she provides the voice and motion capture for the animated character Sakura Fujima, who is also her representative within the project. Her career began with minor roles in anime such as "Dive!!" and "Fate/Grand Order - Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia" before landing her first main role as Sakura Fujima in the television anime "22/7" in 2020.
Beyond her work with 22/7, Sally has built a diverse portfolio of voice roles in both Japanese and English. A notable achievement is her ability to perform the same character in both languages. She voiced Carol Olston in the Japanese and English dubs of the anime "Tomo-chan Is a Girl!". Her other prominent anime roles include Betsy Beltoise in "Kaguya-sama: Love Is War," Eliza Shimizu in "Bocchi the Rock!," Kathrina Griebel in "World Dai Star," and Akari Suzumura in "Jellyfish Can't Swim in the Night". In video games, she is widely recognized as the English voice of Kiriko in "Overwatch 2" and has also voiced Peni Parker in "Marvel Rivals". Regarding the series Orchid Emblem, the English voice actor credited as Sally for the characters Mina and Saki in a 1997 OVA is a different individual and not related to this contemporary voice actress's body of work.
Her cross-cultural background and fluency in multiple languages have made her a prominent figure in bridging the Japanese and international anime communities. She has served as the main host and MC for major global events, including the Crunchyroll Anime Awards and Aniplex Online Fest. This role as a cultural ambassador and her ability to connect with international fans are among her significant achievements. She also maintains a YouTube channel where she shares vlogs about her daily life, often featuring her signature humorous and creative English subtitles.
