Hervé Rey is a French actor and dubbing director, widely recognized for his extensive voice work in the French-language adaptations of numerous animated series and films, particularly within the anime genre. His career began in live-action performance at a very young age, and he has since built a prolific career spanning theater, television, and voice acting.

Rey started his acting career at the age of nine, securing his first television role and subsequently appearing in approximately thirty films and television movies directed by noted filmmakers such as Claude Berri, Marcel Bluwal, and Jean-Jacques Beineix. He also pursued formal training in comedy, song, and dance, and has performed in numerous theatrical productions, including a two-year run in a musical adaptation of Poil de carotte.

His voice acting portfolio is extensive and includes many iconic roles in anime series dubbed for French audiences. Among his most prominent anime voice roles are Takeshi Sawada in the 2018 version of Captain Tsubasa, Peter Pan in the series Peter Pan & Wendy, Richie in Idol Densetsu Eriko, and Tony in Flint: The Time Detective. He is also known for voicing Mickey Dugan (also known as Mickey Dougan) and the robot Otto in the series Eagle Riders and Gatchaman II. Additionally, he provided the voice for the character Jean in the classic series Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water and its film adaptation. In the long-running Digimon Adventure franchise, Rey is the French voice of the character Agumon.

Beyond his work in anime, Rey has achieved recognition for being the official French voice of several Disney characters. Since 1992, he has voiced Peter Pan in all Disney productions, starting with the second dubbing of the 1953 film. In 2001, he succeeded Roger Carel as the voice of Piglet (Porcinet), becoming the character's regular French voice.

In addition to his on-screen and voice acting, Hervé Rey is also active as a dubbing director. His directing credits include the French versions of projects such as Doomed Megalopolis, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, and Studio Ghibli's The Wind Rises. He maintains regular associations with several actors for whom he provides the French voice, including Kerr Smith, Sam Huntington, and DJ Qualls.
