Yukimasa Obi is a Japanese voice actor and actor born on September 22, 1978, in Abashiri, Hokkaido, Japan. He made his debut in the voice acting industry in the year 2000, securing his first major role as the protagonist Zero Enna in the television anime series The Candidate for Goddess, also known as Pilot Candidate. This debut marked the beginning of a career that would span over a decade, encompassing work in both animation and video games.

In addition to his debut role, Obi is recognized for his performance as Ken Inami in the original video animation adaptation of the romance visual novel Memories Off 2nd, which was released in 2003. His filmography includes a variety of other anime titles such as UFO Baby, G-On Riders, Super Gals!, and the 2005 television series Starship Operators, in which he voiced the character Kiska Kanzaki. He also contributed to acclaimed series like Haibane Renmei in 2002. Later in his career, he took on supporting roles in series such as Red in 2008 and Miracle Train in 2009.

His work extended significantly into the realm of video games. Obi voiced the protagonist Frioniel in the PlayStation port of Final Fantasy II. He is also credited with roles in games like Summon Night 4 as Alba, Zoids Struggle, and as the character Kallian in the 2010 role-playing game Xenoblade Chronicles. His involvement in game-related media includes performances in drama CDs for franchises like Summon Night and Memories Off.

Throughout his career, Obi was affiliated with the talent management firm 81 Produce until December 2008. After a period as a freelancer, he joined the agency Gadget Link in July 2011. Beyond voice acting, he was actively involved in music. He began hosting a regular live acoustic event titled Yukimasa Obi Presents Acoustic Night around 2004. In 2012, he formed a musical unit named YouM-ix with fellow voice actor Shigeru Shiraishi, in which Obi played guitar.
