Kinpei Azusa was a Japanese voice actor and stage director born on May 1, 1931, in Fukushima Prefecture, Japan. His real name was Mitsuo Hashimoto, and he was also known by the stage names Kinzo Azusa and Kinzo Azusa. He began his career as a member of the theater troupe Gekidan Geikyo before eventually being affiliated with the talent management firm Aoni Production. Azusa passed away on May 24, 1997, at the age of 66 in Ichikawa, Chiba Prefecture.

A significant portion of his career was dedicated to anime voice acting, with one of his roles being the character Shinana, the King of Romosu, in the series Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibōken, a role that aligns with the provided example of the Princess's Aide. He was also widely recognized for his contributions to the Dragon Ball franchise. In Dragon Ball Z, he voiced the Namek elder Mūri and also provided the voice for Grandpa Son Gohan in the television special Dragon Ball Z: Bardock – The Father of Goku. He also appeared in the complex science fiction series Legend of the Galactic Heroes as Wilhelm von Klopstock and played Mizuki-sensei in the film Ge Ge Ge no Kitarō: Gekitotsu!! Ijigen Yōkai no Daihanran. His versatility extended to voice-over work for foreign media, most notably providing the Japanese voice for the Sultan in the Disney Aladdin sequel films, The Return of Jafar and Aladdin and the King of Thieves. His death in 1997 was due to laryngeal cancer.
