Description
Jody Pijper, born Gerrie Pijper on May 17, 1952, in Ter Aar, Netherlands, is a Dutch actress and singer with a extensive career in voice acting for Dutch-dubbed animations and television series. Her career in the entertainment industry began in the early 1970s, initially focused on music as a solo artist and session singer. She was a member of the successful studio group Stars on 45 in the early 1980s and has provided backing vocals for numerous Dutch artists and for the Dutch entries at the Eurovision Song Contest on multiple occasions. Her voice work is intrinsically linked to her musical background, as she has performed the Dutch theme songs for many of the series in which she voiced characters.

Pijper has voiced leading roles in several classic anime series dubbed into Dutch. She provided the voice for the character Mattia in the series Alleen op de wereld (Nobody's Boy Remi). She voiced the title role in the Dutch version of the anime Nathalie, also performing its theme song. Her work also includes the role of Huckleberry Finn in De avonturen van Tom Sawyer (The Adventures of Tom Sawyer). Beyond these, her voice acting credits from the 1980s and 1990s include roles in Heidi, as Klara and Tante Dete, and as Princess in Strijd der planeten (Battle of the Planets).

In addition to her work in anime, Pijper has voiced a wide array of characters in other animated productions. She was the Dutch voice of the title character in both Babe films, Casper the Friendly Ghost, and the character Nemo in Kleine Nemo. She has also been active in dubbing for television series, with credits including Pablo in The Backyardigans, Dexter in Dexter's Laboratory, Rolly in 101 Dalmatiërs, and Arnold and Wanda in The Magic Schoolbus. In the Pokémon franchise, she performed songs for the Dutch version of the long-running television series alongside singer Herman van Doorn and provided the voice of Squirtle for the special Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Team Go-Getters Out of the Gate!.

A recurring aspect of her career has been her collaboration with JPS Studio (formerly JPS Producties), the production company responsible for the Dutch dubs of numerous series and films. In addition to acting, she has also taken on voice director roles, such as for the children's series Bibaboerderij. Her contributions to Dutch children's entertainment are marked by her dual talents as both a singer and a voice actress, having performed the Dutch theme songs for many of the shows in which she appeared.
