Joop Doderer
Description
Joop Doderer was a Dutch actor known for his voice work in Dutch-language versions of international animated series, particularly Japanese anime. Born in Velsen, Netherlands, in 1921, he had a long career in entertainment before his death in 2005. His voice acting portfolio primarily consists of roles in dubbed versions of popular animated shows during the 1970s.
He provided the voice of Vitalis in the Dutch dub of the 1977 anime series Nobody's Boy Remi, based on the classic French novel Sans Famille. This role is one of his notable contributions to anime voice acting for Dutch audiences. In addition to this, Doderer lent his voice to several other significant anime series dubbed into Dutch. He voiced the character Kiap in the Dutch versions of the influential series Science Ninja Team Gatchaman (1972) and its later adaptation Battle of the Planets (1978). He also voiced the character of Pastoor, or Butler Sebastiaan, in the Dutch dub of the acclaimed Alps no Shōjo Heidi (1974). His work in dubbing extended beyond Japanese animation to include other cartoons, providing the Dutch voices for characters such as Professor Zonnebloem (Professor Cuthbert Calculus) in the animated Les aventures de Tintin series, Popeye, and Agent Dibbel in Top Cat. His contributions helped bring these internationally renowned animated characters and stories to a Dutch-speaking audience.
