Helga Anders

Description
Helga Anders, born Helga Scherz on January 11, 1948, in Innsbruck, Austria, was a German-Austrian actress and voice actress. She began her career as a child performer, gaining prominence in German film and television throughout the 1960s. While she appeared in numerous on-screen roles, Anders was also widely recognized for her extensive voice work, particularly in providing the German dubbing for characters in international productions, including several Japanese anime series.

Her career in voice acting began when she was around fourteen years old. One of her most notable roles was providing the German voice for the title character in the 1976 Japanese anime series The Adventures of Pinocchio, a role she performed for all 52 episodes. Another significant contribution to anime was her role as the hamster Krümel in the German version of the series The Wonderful Adventures of Nils, which aired from 1980 to 1981. In addition to these series leads, she voiced the character Katze in the 1982 anime film Gauche the Cellist. Her voice work also extended to other anime series, where she took on various supporting roles; for instance, in Maya the Bee, she voiced multiple characters, including a mayfly, a snail child, a caterpillar, and a firefly.

Throughout her career, Anders was frequently cast in roles that embodied the "child-woman" archetype, a characteristic that also translated to her work in the dubbing studio where she often voiced younger characters. Her dubbing work was not limited to anime; she was the German voice for numerous actresses in international films and series, including Fuyumi Shiraishi in Gauche the Cellist, Masako Nozawa in The Adventures of Pinocchio, and actors in productions like The Muppet Show. Helga Anders passed away on March 31, 1986, at the age of 38. Her work remains a significant part of the German-language legacy of several beloved anime series from the 1970s and 1980s.
