Josep Maria Ullod was a Catalan actor and dubbing director, recognized for his extensive work in voice acting for both live-action film and animated series. Born in Barcelona on August 7, 1944, he passed away on January 1, 2019, in Badalona. He entered the world of dubbing with guidance from fellow voice actors Ricard Solans and Mercè Sampietro, and he began his career as an assistant to the renowned dubbing actor Arseni Corsellas. Throughout his career, Ullod was known for providing the Catalan and Spanish voices for numerous international actors, including Brian Dennehy, Paul Sorvino, Philip Bosco, Christopher Lee, and Anthony Quinn.

Ullod made significant contributions to the dubbing of anime into Catalan, lending his voice to a wide array of characters. In the film Lensman, he voiced the character Peter van Buskirk. His work in the films of renowned director Rintaro included the role of Zamedi in Harmagedon and Professor Amamori in the Queen Millennia movie. He also contributed to the works of Studio Ghibli, providing the voice for Shirou Nishi, the antique shop owner, in Whisper of the Heart. In the beloved children's series Maya the Bee, he was the voice of Hermann. His other notable anime voice roles in Catalan included Genma Saotome in both the Ranma ½ television series and its original video animations, Bokuseno and Mushin in Inuyasha, Rock Ro in Orphen, and Shachi and Gonzo Tarukane in Yu Yu Hakusho: Ghost Files. He also voiced characters in series such as Case Closed, Dr. Slump, and Monster.

Beyond his work as a voice actor, Josep Maria Ullod also took on the role of dubbing director. In this capacity, he directed the Catalan dubs for the anime series Ranma ½ and its original video animation sequels.
