Isshin Ikeda was a Japanese voice actor born Kazuomi Ikeda on March 12, 1932, in Tokyo, Japan. He passed away on August 5, 2023. He was active in the industry for several decades, contributing his voice to a wide range of anime television series and films from the 1960s through the 1990s.

Ikeda's career was marked by numerous supporting and guest roles in classic anime. He is known for playing the character of Elder Graysquirrel in the 1979 television series Bannertail: The Story of Gray Squirrel. His other prominent anime roles include Professor Hume in the 1972 series Science Ninja Team Gatchaman, also known as Gatchaman, and Mitsuo Kita in Dokaben. In the 1994 film The Life of Guskou Budori, he provided the voice for the character Dr. Kūbō.

Beyond these roles, Ikeda's extensive filmography demonstrates his versatility. He was credited under both his stage name, Isshin Ikeda, and his birth name, Kazuomi Ikeda. His work spanned several decades and included performances in Princess Knight as Garigori, The Wonderful Adventures of Nils as a Teacher, and the 1981 Urusei Yatsura series as an Elder.
