Jane Val was a French actress known for her extensive work in dubbing, providing the French voices for numerous characters in animated series and films. Born Jeanne Valentin in Paris on April 4, 1930, she trained at the Conservatoire de Paris in the class of Béatrix Dussane. She passed away in Paris on February 21, 2006.

Val built a prolific career specializing in voice acting for foreign productions. Her work encompassed a wide range of anime series dubbed into French. Among her notable roles in this field were Frisquette in Monarch: The Big Bear of Tallac, Mère Noël in Mori no Tonto-tachi, the title character in Mrs. Pepperpot (Madame Pepperpote), and Tante March in the anime adaptation of Little Women, Wakakusa Monogatari Yori Wakakusa no Yon Shimai.

Beyond anime, her voice was widely recognized in many other popular dubbed series and films. She was the French voice of Nellie Oleson in the television series Little House on the Prairie and of Venusia in the anime series Grendizer (known as Goldorak in French). Her dubbing credits also included voices in series such as The Mysterious Cities of Gold and live-action shows like Diff'rent Strokes, The Facts of Life, and Malcolm in the Middle. She also contributed voices to numerous animated films from studios like Disney and Don Bluth, including The Rescuers, The Fox and the Hound, The Black Cauldron, and The Secret of NIMH.

Throughout her long career, Jane Val became a familiar and beloved presence in French-language media through her extensive voice work, collaborating frequently with fellow dubbing actors such as Roger Carel.
