Mishio Fukazawa is a Japanese author recognized as the original creator behind several light novel series that have been adapted into anime. She is credited as the original creator for both the original video animation series Fortune Quest - Yonimo Shiawase na Bōkensha-tachi and the television anime series Fortune Quest L.

Fukazawa is a graduate of the Musashino Art University, where she studied in the Department of Sculpture. Following her education, she worked as a copywriter and a technical writer before beginning her career as a novelist. Her work primarily falls within the genre of light novels, with a focus on fantasy fiction.

Her most notable and enduring creation is the Fortune Quest series. This series began as a light novel in 1989 and continued over an extended period, with new installments being published for approximately twenty years. The series was published under multiple imprints, including Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko and Dengeki Bunko. The Fortune Quest stories follow a group of adventurers in a fantasy world, blending adventure, comedy, and character-driven narratives.

The first anime adaptation of her work was the four-episode OVA series Fortune Quest - Yonimo Shiawase na Bōkensha-tachi, released between 1993 and 1994. Several years later, a 26-episode television series titled Fortune Quest L was produced, airing from October 1997 to May 1998. Both adaptations list Fukazawa as the original work creator.

Beyond Fortune Quest, Fukazawa is also the author of the Duan Surk series, another fantasy light novel series published under the Dengeki Bunko label. This series also received a manga adaptation. Her body of work includes contributions to the fantasy genre in Japanese light novels, with her series being among the early long-running titles in the medium.
