Adrian Truss is a British-Canadian actor, voice actor, writer, and director known for his extensive work in animated children's television series. Born in London, England on October 18, 1953, he moved to Canada in 1957 and has since built a prolific career spanning stage, live-action, and voice acting. He studied at Ryerson University in Toronto from 1975 to 1977 and is a founding member of the comedy troupe Illustrated Men, alongside Bruce Hunter and David Huband. His comedy background also includes performances with The Second City and appearances on the iconic sketch series SCTV.
Truss's voice acting career is marked by a wide array of roles in numerous animated series produced in Canada. He is well-recognized for his portrayal of Jerry, the head of the World Organization of Human Protection (WOOHP), in the long-running series Totally Spies!, a role he took over from season three onward and also voiced in its spin-off The Amazing Spiez! and the Totally Spies! The Movie. He has provided voices for a host of other memorable characters, including Admiral DeGill in Atomic Betty, Dragon in Jane and the Dragon, Poe in Ruby Gloom, and General Klump in Donkey Kong Country. On the series Rolie Polie Olie, he voiced both Dad (Percy Polie) and Uncle Gizmo. His later work includes roles such as Armand in Camp Lakebottom, Pete in Total Drama Presents: The Ridonculous Race, and The Earl of Barkingburg in PAW Patrol. As confirmed in the credits for the series, he voices the character Mr. Lonely in the anime-influenced show Pecola.
