Bonner Dytoc

Description
Information on Bonner Dytoc identifies him as a veteran Filipino voice actor primarily known for his work in Tagalog dubs of anime and tokusatsu series during the 1990s. He is recognized as one of the pioneering voices in the local dubbing industry, contributing to several shows that became cultural touchstones for Filipino audiences.

His early career included voice work in the Tagalog dub of the tokusatsu series Kamen Rider Black, where he was the original voice for the protagonist Kohtaro Minami. He also provided the voice for Daichi Yamagata in the Tagalog version of Kousoku Sentai Turboranger. In anime, one of his notable early roles was as Joe Shimamura, the titular character in the Tagalog dub of Cyborg 009.

Dytoc is perhaps best known for his role as the first voice of the protagonist Yusuke Urameshi, named Eugene in the Filipino version, in the anime Yu Yu Hakusho, locally titled Ghost Fighter. He voiced the character during the Spirit Detective and Dark Tournament arcs. In the same series, he also voiced the antagonist Sakyo. In interviews, Dytoc recounted the challenges of dubbing in the pre-internet era, where voice actors worked with limited materials and had no prior knowledge of a show's plot, leading to occasional assumptions about characters, such as the gender of Kurama (Dennis) and Genkai (Master Jeremiah) in Ghost Fighter. He described the dubbing process at the time as entirely analog, with actors often sharing a single microphone in a small studio.

His credited works also include the role of Hayato Shindou in the Tagalog dub of the anime series Time Quest. Dytoc has expressed pride in his contribution to the dubbing industry and appreciation for the lasting legacy and fond memories Filipino fans have for the shows he helped bring to life.
